I now know that spiritual warfare on missionaries is for real.
I was scheduled to Skype Mary yesterday morning (your evening). I turned on Skype but there was no response. I forgot to turn it off, and after half an hour at around 10:30 pm LA time I heard her sister’s voice. We connected and I found that Mary had an acute case of food poisoning; she was throwing up and had stomach pain. Her sister came over in order to take her to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. For the next two hours I prayed for her; I was filled with anxiety although in the back of my mind I felt that she will be OK. 2 hours later I called her sister in the hospital, she said Mary has IV but she has no temperature and other functions seemed OK. There is nothing I can do but prayed for her. Thank God last night (2 pm LA time) I called Mary and she has recovered, she sounded fine and the blood test and CAT scan all appeared normal. She should be checking out of the hospital Saturday morning. Please pray that the Lord will keep her healthy so she can join me here in 2 weeks.
I must admit when I went out to lead a Bible study in Magdeburg I was in trepidation. I felt guilt that I left her at home, but thankfully the Holy Spirit comforted me. During the meeting, somehow I felt the Holy Spirit led me to share a testimony I did not plan on sharing. After the meeting as I was about to get in the car of Brother He to go to the train station, a sister rushed out and told me that my testimony was exactly what she needed in making an important decision. Unfortunately due to the rush to get to the train station on time I wasn’t able to get her name and her story. May be Reba can follow up next Friday.
Another piece of good news is that few days ago I called Milan and found out that they do not have a projector, so I have to bring one from Leipzig. Yesterday I received an e-mail that one of their sisters has one and I don’t have to carry a heavy load with me. Our Lord is Jehovah jireh!
Blessings
